"I have stayed here 7-8 times for two weeks each year. The property and the owners are truely one of a kind. The ability to stay here and enjoy their hospitality is a true blessing. I would best describe the property as a retreat, in the best sense of the word. The weight of the world slips from my shoulders every time I see the lake, its something you have to experience. There are plenty of FREE boating options, including sail, kayak, canoe, paddleboat and rowboat...all first come first serve. I think I spend about 2 hours a day on the water, and the rest just lounging waterside with a cold one. Bring your own life jacket if you have one, as its the law to wear one on the water (but they have some to borrow as well).. There are about 5-10 really good food options less than 10 miles away, and hundreds of restaurants in Noho. You can also cook and grill your own food if you wish. There is a first class fish monger and butcher in Noho on King St, just google for those locations (they are almost across the street from each other). There are also several really nice roadside farmer's stands in Hatfield, which is only 15 minutes away. Follow Elm St to Prospect St, and you are in foodie heaven...the corn on the cob guy is my favorite, I take home 10 dozen ears every year."

"I live in the area and am still amazed how beautiful the lake is. Accommodations were great - from the kayaks to the host!"
Ronnie Maclellan
"This is a truly special place, a real escape. We stayed in the White Cottage which along with the other two is totally unique. It is well equipped and comfortable with great original 1950's features - amazing sinks in the kitchen and bathroom! The location was perfect for us - quiet, ie. no watercraft with engines on the lake, warm water (unheard of in the UK!), full use of the kayaks, canoe, trampoline & paddleboard and is right next to the DAR Forest. We explored this a bit but it was difficult to leave the lake! Northampton is a great, offbeat city with small independent shops and Smith College Art Gallery and Botanics which were lovely, Shelburne Falls was really worth visiting for the Bridge of Flowers, glacial potholes and mosaic trail giving a history of the town and Williamsburg and Ashfield had great bakeries and delicious pizza. What more could you ask for...friendly, helpful hosts who couldn't do enough to make us welcome? Got that too! Dina and Bob are exceptional. We left feeling we had made new friends - an unforgettable break. We will be back. Thank you Dina, Bob, Maddie, Dan and Laura, Best wishes."
